Proudly born and raised in South Central Los Angeles California, I want to give back to the community through the arts. I am the first of my family to attend a university and currently in my third year at California State University Los Angeles. I am pursing an Art Education major with the main goals of creating a bridge between youth in South Central and the extensive art world by passing my knowledge to them while teaching them how to apply art in various areas of the world. Another part of my goal is to encourage and guide those who are passionate but afraid of art because of their background or the future to pursue it. Before graduating from Nava College Preparatory Academy I learned many skills from the programs and classes that were offered. I was a part of ASB, the Exponential Entrepreneur program, and played sports. From these experiences I gained skills like determination, curiosity, adaptability, public speaking, event planning, and leadership. Directly influenced from the Expo program I keep updated with technology and it's growth. I also discovered my passion for the arts while learning about digital and traditional art in Digital Imaging, Photography, and my 2 art classes. The outcomes of all these experiences is that I am able to apple these skills to my everyday life. At the Students Demand Action Marketing Challenge Event, I was able to step in as a mentor for one that was absent and help guide the students with creating a skit and presentation about gun violence in America. My main hobbies are creating art works that are personal to me, target social injustices, and explore different mediums, techniques or concepts. More hobbies are listening to music, playing guitar, and hiking.
